What is Cognitive Impairment?
People with schizophrenia struggle to concentrate, remember and learn. These issues with the thinking process are called cognitive impairments. Cognitive impairments make it difficult to accomplish simple tasks like scheduling an appointment or dialing a telephone number.
Managing the big and small demands of everyday life are accommodated more easily when a trusted family member or caregiver oversees the individual’s personal affairs and works with the medical treatment team to coordinate care.
Despite the challenges, most patients and caregivers are searching for a better quality of life.

Individuals referred to a participating study center are encouraged to discuss the research study with family, caregivers, and their physicians before signing Informed Consent and at any time during their participation in the study.
